Anthonys 05 Power Wagon
Hi All, Anthony here. I joined the club so I could try "harder" 4x4 trails and by using the "trail experience" from the group not to get my New truck too damaged, since I also use the truck for work. I enjoy the outdoors.. Camping/Fishing/Hunting and you need a 4x4 to get to the best places for those.
I have enjoyed all of the club runs I have done and am looking forward to more!
I'm hoping to see some trips to the Mountains that are Long Wheel Base friendly that are not "scenic routes".. example Sierra Trek (cal4wheel)
I'm pretty new to the wheeling scene, But I have used 4x4's for work and for play(dunes/hunting/fishing(best lakes/streams are hard to get to/camping) I have owned a 64' Town Wagon Power Wagon (d44 closed knuckle front, d60 w/gov-loc rear, 8k PTO winch, 318poly with 4 barrel intake manifold off a 64' dart?, eagle rims with 35x12.5x16.5 MT's) for 15 years, since I was 17. I have taken it everywhere from death valley to the rockies to baja. I just got some "new" axles(2 1/2t rockwells) I plan on installing, as soon as I'm done with the roll cage(about half way done). Figured when I get it all back together I would use it as a beater while I fabricate new body panels(can't buy them got to fab them). After I get the new panels finished I'm going to do a frame up resto on it. It is a very rare Townie...One of only 250 produced in 64'
I have to make a set of rocksliders for my new Power Wagon...the first set I had made wasn't strong enough.. they buckled when I got high centered in the mud, pulling a friend's work truck out of a nasty mud hole..I made sure and removed them before I took it in to have the "smart-bar"(automatic sway-bar) replaced.
I would like to try the trails at Hollister Hills, Moab sometime in the near future. I'll be going to New Mexico in early Nov. to visit family and figured I would try some of the trails near Las Cruces with my family and a local 4x4 group they belong to. And on the way back I would go up to Moab(weather permitting) and do some wheeling there with a friend of mine and a club he belongs to from Provo, UT
See you All on the Trails Soon
Anthony
