THANK YOU
TO ALL SLO 4-Wheeler Board & Committe Members of 1999.
A JOB WELL DONE

And now for something completly different:

  • Well, not completely but I thought I should briefly introduce myself as your new president. My name is Mark Booker. Member of the SLO 4-Wheelers something like 6 years. I have an 82 Cj 7 + a few other hobbies, (like a motorhome, we enjoy it except when its time to dump, referred to as doing the nasties I hate it. But I enjoy the coach so doing the nasties has become part of it if we want to use it. Sort like land use issues-Just somthing Id really rather not think about, but its necessary. Its not your motorhome so I wont be askin for help...but when Lynn says write DO IT! because they are YOUR trails!
  • Anyway, when sitting around the campfire at Coyote last year with other SLO 4-Wheelers, as we were solving the worlds problems, it was suggested I run for President, Dooop! hmmm- I just couldnt think of a good reason not +I figured someone more motivated would want it-WRONG- so here I am.
  • What can you expect from your new Prez? Well,,,my main focus will be fun
1: an open agenda to run the meetings
2: An open ear, I invite everyones input for ideas & suggestions. This is YOUR club!
3: More focus on runs, our adopted trails, and 4-wheeling in general. Dont misunderstand,-its not a new approach, but with so much coming at us, an effort will be required to not lose sight of why were out there and at the meetings.
  • I think as Prez-that will be the most difficult challenge,- to react as required & stay informed of the political stuff while at the same time keeping the emphasis on & actually enjoying the wheeling, the camaraderie,-tall tales & lies and just general good friendship of being a member of the SLO 4-Wheelers.
  • Also; Id personally like to THANK! our out-going officers & those who have volunteered to fill an office or accepted another term. I cannot speak highly enough of those who give up their time for the club.-The reward is in the doing, but lettin em know is nice.
